But im not ok with a $1300 monitor coming with defects. The Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor possesses the worlds fastest refresh rate at 360Hz. Im sure Dell will take the one with the stuck pixel and sell it as a refurb, and someone might be 100% OK with that. And I guarantee if you buy an open box unit it will have some kind of problem. The panels are gorgeous, WHEN THEY WORK but honestly, It seems like im probably going to be making heavy use of the 3 year warranty and im starting to wonder if I screwed up in selling my super reliable AW3420DW. Now the 2nd replacement is out for delivery today. and in the case of the Velocity Micro Vector SV-X, an eVGA GeForce 6600 graphics card. That replacement shit the bed yesterday during a work meeting and started displaying flashing solid colors like red, green and blue while accepting no input from either HDMI or DisplayPort and also would not show the OSD so it simply bricked itself in the middle of a team meeting. Just last week I bought mine new from Dell, it had a stuck pixel.
The 300 or so difference coupled with the 70/30 work vs gaming aspect since I’ve read about some issues with reading text for long periods and a few about burn in (but those seemed rare with the pixel shift software stuff. Yup, I would NEVER buy an open box AW3423DW. Micro Center Dell Alienware AW3821DW 37.5 2K WQHD+ (3840 x 1600) 144Hz Curved Screen Gaming Monitor NVIDIA G-Sync HDR HDMI Displayport Nano IPS loading. Yeah I get OLED looks great, and I was looking at both of them, but it just didn’t blow me away the way I thought it would. Boston microcenter showing 3 in stock but all with either scratches or dead pixels/lines so make sure you check condition before buying
